The Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand lost it during Saturday afternoon's game against the Philadelphia Flyers and suffered the consequences.
He received a two-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for lashing out on a referee who didn't call a hit he received from Erik Johnson.
Brad Marchand gets a two-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after completely losing it at the bench.
Flyers' Erik Johnson landed a big hit on Brad Marchand and after he returned to the bench, was furious that no penalty was called on the play.
Watch how it went down here:
"Brad Marchand takes a dangerous knee on knee hit from Erik Johnson, chews out the refs for not calling anything, and gets 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
As Jack says in the clip, this type of hit ends careers. Don't blame Marchand for losing his cool here."
Many hockey players got injured with that type of knee-on-knee collision. Johnson should've known better. Marchand, despite being one of the most controversial players in the league, is well respected in the hockey community. At this point, a long-term injury would put the rest of his career in jeopardy.
