Despite being passed over in the NHL Entry Draft multiple times, Justin Brazeau has now secured himself a spot as a National Hockey League player. The Boston Bruins recently announced signing the undrafted prospect to a two-way NHL contract, recognizing his impressive performance with the Providence Bruins in the AHL.
Hailing from New Liskeard, Ontario, Brazeau had been striving for years to break into the NHL. He spent some time with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization before finding success with the Bruins.
This season, Brazeau has played 49 games for the Providence Bruins, tallying 18 goals and 19 assists for a total of 37 points. Standing at an imposing 6'5" and weighing 245lbs, Brazeau not only brings skill but also physical presence to the ice.
Under his new contract, Brazeau, now 26, will earn $775,000 per year at the NHL level for the next two years.
