The Patrick Kane sweepstakes are in full swing, as the veteran star is showing signs of recovery. Now, his hometown team is in pursuit of signing him.
As reported by Darren Dreger, the Buffalo Sabres have been showing tremendous interest in signing Patrick Kane. Recent reports have confirmed that Kane is looking to sign with a team near the end of the month.
The Sabres are almost a perfect fit for Kane, as he has a personal connection to the club, but also the Sabres are one of few teams in the NHL with cap space. The Sabres currently have $8.77 million in free space, which is more than enough to secure Kane for 1-2 years.
Kane is also rehabbing his hip in Toronto, which is just a few hour's drive from his hometown. With a recent surge of players returning home in their veteran years, Kane could be next on that list.
