Colorado Avalanche star receives 6-month suspension from the NHL

The Colorado Avalanche received some bad news with star forward Valeri Nichushkin who is facing a 6-month ban from the NHL after entering the NHLPA assistance program for the 2nd time this season.

Valeri Nichushkin, forward for the Colorado Avalanche, has been placed in Stage 3 of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, resulting in a six-month suspension from NHL action.

Under the terms of the joint program, Nichushkin will be suspended without pay for a minimum of six months and then will be eligible to apply for reinstatement.
I'm hearing Nichushkin failed a d*** test. But I have no idea what the «d***s» are

The suspension, announced recently, follows Nichushkin's failure of a substance test. While the specifics of the failed test remain unclear, Nichushkin will need to apply for reinstatement after the suspension period.
