The Detroit Red Wings received some unfortunate news just before the National Hockey League's trade deadline.
Dylan Larkin Sidelined With Injury
Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde revealed on Monday that forward Dylan Larkin will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks due to a "lower-body injury." The injury occurred during a game against the Florida Panthers, but Lalonde didn't provide further details about its nature.
Red Wings' Dylan Larkin out two weeks with lower-body injury, per Derek Lalonde. Team won't call up anyone to start trip, as have 12 Fs available, and could also go 11 & 7. Joe Veleno in for Larkin between DeBrincat & Kane.
Lalonde mentioned that the team doesn't currently intend to bring up additional players to compensate for Larkin's absence. Instead, they've placed forward Joe Veleno between Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane for the time being.
