The playoff opener between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders didn't disappoint. The Hurricanes proved to be up to some sneaky tactics, not giving New York backup goaltender, Ilya Sorokin, a chair to sit on during the game. It was like they were trying to tire him out by making him stand the whole time. Normally, they'd give the opposing goalie a chair, but this time, they didn't.
They just keep pounding away, relentless with their shots and crashing the net with bodies flying everywhere. Yet it was Frederik Andersen who stole the show in Game 1! He made 33 saves in the victory, including that game-saving one after colliding with his teammate. Freddie was in a great mood postgame.
I'm just grateful to be a part of playoff hockey. I think we have a really special team. Everyone's going to be a part of it and do their job as best as possible.
