New York Rangers rookie enforcer Matt Rempe has quickly made a name for himself in the league during his 10-game stint. Despite his short time, he's already taken on tough opponents like Ryan Reaves, Nicolas Deslauriers, Matt Martin, and Mathieu Olivier. However, he also faced disciplinary action, serving a four-game suspension for intentionally elbowing New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in the head.

Rempe completed his suspension after the Rangers victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday but was held out of the lineup by head coach Peter Laviolette for the team's subsequent loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
Interesting comments from Peter Laviolette on Matt Rempe. He said they've had talks about having fewer staged fights. He didn't want Rempe to fight MacDermid early vs NJ because the #NYR viewed the Bastian hit as clean. Then the refs stopped a fight after the Siegenthaler hit.
Laviolette shared intriguing insights regarding Rempe and fighting in the NHL, expressing a desire to see fewer staged fights in the league.
He specifically mentioned that he didn't want Rempe to fight Kurtis MacDermid of the Devils early in the game because the Rangers believed Rempe's earlier hit on Nathan Bastian was clean. Additionally, Laviolette highlighted how referees intervened in a fight following the Siegenthaler hit.
Looking ahead, Rempe is expected to return to the lineup for Thursday night's game against the Boston Bruins.
Do you think Laviolette is doing the right thing with Rempe?
