In the last 24 hours, the NHL has moved the Corey Perry situation along significantly. In this time teams have been allowed to talk with Perry and one team has spurned Perry after investigation.
Several Teams Do Their Investigations As Perry Becomes Available
In recent days NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced that Corey Perry would be allowed to sign with a new team after meeting with him. Since being given the green light NHL teams have been in discussion with Perry while digging into the incident that led to him being released.
On Corey Perry... several teams are exploring signing the veteran for the second half of the season.
Not sure if it will happen, but there's interest. I know at least one team doing major due dilligence to see if there were other incidents besides what happened in Chicago.
With several teams being interested also comes a host of teams who are not. One team has apparently done their due diligence and is not interested in pursuing Corey Perry according to another report from a team insider.
Perry Faces Dwindling Interest As Western Contender Withdraws
A new sound bite has come out from Vancouver Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal has provided some insight that has confirmed the Canucks are not interested in Perry.
Dhaliwal also says as of today, Canucks aren't discussing Corey Perry.

The Canucks have been one of the better teams in the NHL this season. Even with this in mind, the Canucks could use a big boost to their depth up front. With the struggles of Andrei Kuzmenko, the team has needed scoring to increase.
The Canucks for now are out of the Perry sweepstakes however if this process drags out and the Canucks go into a slump things could always change.
