After a challenging journey, forward Shane Wright is getting another shot in the NHL with the Seattle Kraken.
The #SeaKraken have recalled forward Shane Wright from the Coachella Valley @Firebirds.
Wright, once a top prospect expected to be the first overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, faced setbacks in his NHL career. Despite appearing in 11 NHL games with the Kraken, he was sent down to the AHL after just three games this season. However, Wright showcased his talent in the AHL, tallying 43 points (20 goals, 23 assists) in 56 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, earning himself a recall to the main roster.
While his call-up doesn't guarantee playing time, it's a positive step for Wright, who aims to prove his doubters wrong after being passed over by three NHL teams in the draft.
