The Utah Hockey Club has signed forward Kailer Yamamoto to a professional tryout agreement.
Earlier this summer, the 25-year-old became an unrestricted free agent after the Seattle Kraken chose not to offer him a new contract. Last season, Yamamoto scored eight goals and 16 points in 59 games with Seattle after signing a one-year, $1.5 million deal.
In June 2023, Yamamoto was bought out by the Detroit Red Wings following a trade from the Edmonton Oilers. While with Edmonton in the 2022-23 season, he scored 10 goals and 25 points in 58 games.
Originally drafted 22nd overall by the Oilers in 2017, Yamamoto has recorded 58 goals and 134 points in 303 career NHL games.
