Moog, a native of Penticton, BC, commenced his professional career with the Oilers in 1980, contributing significantly to the team's dynasty alongside legends like Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky. His role was pivotal in securing three Stanley Cup championships in 1984, 1985, and 1987.

Despite predominantly serving as a backup goaltender, Moog's skill and resilience endeared him to fans during his seven-year tenure in Edmonton. His journey continued with the Boston Bruins in 1987, where he transitioned to a starting role, later moving to the Dallas Stars. In 1994, Moog achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the 10th NHL goalie to record 300 wins, solidifying his status as one of the best goalies in NHL history, despite not being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
