The Nashville Predators have traded goaltender Yaroslav Askarov to the San Jose Sharks for a package including a 2025 conditional first round pick.
Askarov had reportedly asked for a trade earlier in the off-season, and was clearly not happy about the Predators re-signing goaltender Jusse Saros, as he felt he was ready to play in the NHL.
The full trade is a big one, as the Sharks send prospects David Edstrom, Magnus Chrona and a 2025 conditional first round pick to the Predators in exchange for Askarov, prospect Nolan Burke, and
a 2025 3rd round pick, originally belonging to the Avalanche.

The conditions of the first round pick are listed in the tweet below, made by renowned analyst Elliotte Friedman.

Askarov, 22, was Nashville's 11th overall pick in 2020, but has only played in 3 NHL games due to being blocked in the crease by Jusse Saros, one of the NHL's best goalies. He will get an opportunity to play for a weak San Jose team in the coming years and hopefully develop into a star goaltender.
The Sharks are taking a gamble on Askarov, and only time will tell if they made the right call.
