In breaking news, Seattle Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol has announced that former top-15 draft pick has been benched for trade-related reasons.

Alex Wennberg Benched For Trade-Related Reasons

According to reports, Wennberg will be sitting out tonight's game due to "trade-related issues." Hakstol stated that Wennberg didn't participate in the morning skate and won't be available for the game.

The veteran center has generated interest from multiple clubs, including the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche.
The #SeaKraken are still working through their trade options while holding Alex Wennberg out of tonight's game as a precaution. The #NYR and #Avs are among the teams who have shown interest in Wennberg.
Wennberg, who is in the last year of his contract earning $4.5 million annually, has recorded 25 points in 60 games this season while playing as the Kraken's 2nd or 3rd line center.
