The NHL instituted a new rule in 2022 designed to protect players. The rule makes it mandatory for players who entered the NHL after the 2019-20 to wear helmets during warm-ups.
Connor Bedard was previously fined for this rule as he did not wear a helmet during his rookie lap.
Anaheim Ducks top prospects
Leo Carlsson was selected by the Anaheim Ducks second overall in 2023. Many expected him to go between three and five, but second was also not out of the question.

Tristan Luneau was selected in the second round, 53rd overall, of the 2022 NHL draft.
Both players made their debuts on Thursday, and both did not wear their helmets.
Each will have to pay the NHL $2,500 as they both did not wear helmets during warm-ups, as evident by the tweet above.
In 2022-23, Carlsson scored 25 points in 44 games for Orebro HK in the SHL. He already scored a goal in his NHL debut.
Luneau was named the top QMJHL defenseman in 2022-23, and scored 83 points in 65 game for the Gatineau Olympiques.
The Ducks are on the way to becoming a dynasty.
