Bruins announcer Jack Edwards went off on the referees today after they missed a dangerous hit on Bruins captain Brad Marchand. Making matters worse is the fact that Marchand got a penalty after the play.
Flyers defeat Bruins with clutch goal late in third period
The goal gave the team a 3-2 lead which they would not relinquish in the short time remaining in the game. However, one incident earlier in the contest had many fans raising their eyebrows.
Marchand gets minor penalty for complaining to refs after dangerous hit
Late in the first period Bruins captain Brad Marchand was the victim of a brutal knee-on-knee hit made by Flyers defenseman Erik Johnson. The play easily could have been a major penalty for kneeing but the referees did not call anything at all.
Brad Marchand takes a dangerous knee on knee hit from Erik Johnson, chews out the refs for not calling anything, and gets 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
As Jack says in the clip, this type of hit ends careers. Don't blame Marchand for losing his cool here.

This prompted Bruins color commentator Jack Edwards to call out the referees by name, something you don't see in many NHL broadcasts.
"Eric Furlatt and Michael Markovic are the referees today, neither of them wears glasses on the ice. Department of player safety ought to suspend the two refs."
Edwards is one of the more infamous broadcasters in the league, known for his exceptional bias towards the Bruins and his wacky word choice at times. However, this instance is one where most fans will actually agree with him as the hit on Marchand did look pretty bad. We will just have to wait and see if the Department of Player Safety has anything to say about Johnson's hit on Brad Marchand.
