Tremendous respect for Westin, who was Adam Johnson's teammate this year. Today has been a bizarre exercise in attacking someone in the absence of facts or context. For Westin to do this amid certain grief and shock is an act of grace and compassion that so many seem to lack.

Westin Michaud, player on the Nottingham Panthers, and teammate of Adam Johnson, who passed away after taking a skate to the throat from Matt Petgrave, has spoken out.

Michaud is calling for the hate towards Petgrave to stop, and says the entire play was a freak accident.

There you have it, the cowards watching a pixelated video and calling for the head of Petgrave should come to a full stop. Michaud saw the entire play unfold in front of his eyes.

It's crucial that individuals respect and believe those who were present at the scene. The disdainful remarks, especially the racist comments, tarnish the spirit of the sport and should be condemned.
