NEWS: The NHL sent an updated memo to teams Thursday clarifying what they can do this season with special initiatives such as Pride Night. A source told ESPN that several teams sought clarity as the first memo was seen as both confusing and limiting.

The following is an excerpt from the memo that stirred confusion among the teams:

"Players shall not be placed in a situation where they might have to show (or seem to show) personal support for any Special Initiatives. Considerations may include, for instance, whether a Player (or Players) must be near groups or persons visibly tied to such Special Initiative(s)."
