The investigation into the 2018 WJC team Canada incident has gotten to the point where we are officially waiting for the legal process to do its job. That being said, one of the players being charged was seen waiting in style as he posted as if he was on vacation.
The player was none other than Devils forward Michael McLeod, who is the sole individual facing multiple charges for his role in the 2018 incident. Since he made the post, several fans have pointed out how disgusting his behavior is considering the seriousness of the charges he is facing.
Mcleod's vacation was especially troublesome considering the fact that he left Canada for it. Considering the fact that he is currently awaiting trial, it seems unreasonable that he is allowed to leave the country.
Unfortunately, it will take more than a couple of disgruntled social media posts to get the laws changed. Regardless, The New Jersey Devils will miss McLeod's presence strongly. The center has 10 goals and 19 points in 45 games this season and his advanced stats indicate that he was one of the most valuable players on the team. However, he has most likely played his last game in the NHL.
